Reviews
Honestly, the quality of food itself was average. However, it was a very unique experience dining here. The best way to describe the food is that the dishes were contemplative and evoked conversations.
I enjoyed the stories and little snippets that came before each dish, as well as hearing from our server of the night more about the decor of the restaurant.
The food itself was average, presentation instaworthy, and perhaps the reason for the Michelin star was considering everything else.
This wasn’t my first time having dinner at Bo Innovation and it won’t be my last time :)
Bo Innovation has been well known for it’s molecular gastronomy and I feel like they are shifting away from it. I’m not saying that food isn’t great, in fact it is still great, but it didnt wow like it used to be (days back in Central).
Anyway its great food with great atmosphere overall!
《Two-Michelin-starred innovation》
A two-Michelin-starred restaurant brand, Bo Innovation, where an innovative and “X-treme” fusion of Chinese and Western fine dining is crafted by the “Demon Chef”, Alvin Leung.
The space is spacious, featuring an open kitchen, and artworks displaying Hong Kong cultural elements 🇭🇰 at different corners of the dining room - an ode to the city - all carefully selected by Chef Alvin.
A $680pp lunch menu is a brief display of their creativity, but already a whole new gastronomy journey that was enough to leave us mesmerised. From amuse-bouche to dessert, each dish presents a bold blend of ingredients from the East and the West - some things you’ve never thought of going so well together. Plating is meticulous as well. Truly a culinary innovation at its finest.

The food was mostly excellent. The only dish that didn't quite work for me was the fish roe "Jackson Pollock", which was more thematic than it was tasty.
Probably not worth ordering the wine pairing - for the price the wines are not outstanding, and they don't seem to have a dedicated somellier to introduce them. They should probably also consider turning down the AC a bit - I was certainly very glad that I was wearing a jacket.
It's been a few years since we last visited Hong Kong. We knew we had to come back, and we were not disappointed. Brand new menu, with creative takes on each theme for every item on the menu. This is a restaurant that lives up to its name. But not just innovation, each course was also delicious! Glad we made this our first dinner on our trip.
A tasting menu that really stands out. Everything works harmoniously. It’s easy to feel how much thought is poured into each and every detail to craft such a cohesive and fun dining experience. Excellently executed dishes, beautiful tableware. Setting and theatrics really complement the Masterpiece menu, and reflects chef Alvin’s personal touch and culinary genius.
So much better than their last location, if that deterred you, give them a chance and be wowed.
Masterpiece menu. 2000pp
The only dish that was a miss for me was the pollock pollock. Wine pairing also was a miss and priced too high at 1480pp for 5 glasses.
Great for: dates, families, bring your parents, even your non foodie friends will enjoy this
A must try place if you love Hong Kong! The menu is composed of a list of names of famous paintings. Each and every dish is not only innovative and creative, but also tasteful and delicious! What a wonderful way to revisit Hong Kong dishes !
Thanks to Keith and the team. We had a company team celebration at Bo Innovation for lunch and it was truly amazing. The dishes never fail to surprise us from the simple Dandan noodles to the Wagyu beef and black truffles rice noodle rolls.
Despite we are a large group (>10 ppl) Keith and his team tried their best to accommodate our requests in order to host us with the best experiences. Would definitely paying visits in another time for personal or even more team celebrations.
